About the South Hook Noise Community Group
The South Hook Noise Community Group is a growing group of residents who live within a 5 mile radius of the South Hook LNG Terminal who are suffering noise issues from the Q-Flex and Q-Max Vessels chartered to Qatargas that berth at South Hook LNG Terminal in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom.
The group formed early in 2010, after many months of suffering from noise issues, with the aim of sharing information relating to the issues local communities had faced. Shortly after, it was agreed to launch a website, www.southhooknoise.co.uk to keep local communties informed of progress with the issues we are suffering.
Some of the aims of the website is to help locals identify what the noises are they can hear in their homes, their characteristics, and how to make a complaint.
We will request information from various parties regarding any work which may have been carried out by the owners of the vessels with the aim of evaluating if the upgrade work has been successful in rectified the noise issues we have suffered with a nuisance vessel in the past.
The South Hook LNG Ship Noise Community Group is dedicated to gaining a positive outcome to the noise issues local communities to the berths of the vessels, not only at South Hook LNG Terminal, but also at other terminals worldwide who have the same issues with the Q-Flex and Q-Max fleet.
We have established links with other terminals around the world, including France, Belgium, U.S.A, Mexico, Japan and Canada which also have near residents who have simular suffering caused by the visiting Q-Flex and Q-Max vessels.
